Train Station

Brighouse Railway station re-opened in 2000 after being closed for more than 30 years. The station was originally opened in 1840 under the company Manchester and Leeds Railway. The station’s importance had declined due to other railway lines connecting Manchester and Leeds were built via Halifax and Huddersfield.

Brighouse Railway Station caters for 64,419 people per year (2004-2005). It has hourly services to Bradford, Leeds and Selby, Huddersfield and Wakefield. Leeds-Dewsbury-Brighouse-Sowerby Bridge-Hebden Bridge route also stops at Brighouse.

Platforms

Platform 1, towards: Huddersfield, Leeds (Dewsbury), Wakefield and London Kings Cross
Platform 2, towards: Hebden Bridge, Leeds Halifax and Selby.

Proposals for a line running from Bradford to London via Brighouse were submitted in 2007 and approved. There are 3 trains per day to London Kings Cross from Brighouse, operated by Grand Central Railway.

Located in the centre of Brighouse, the unstaffed bus station provides regular services to all major towns in Calderdale. The bus station has 6 stands and operates the following services.
